Down payment help in North Carolina
The NC Housing Finance Agency offers these programs through participating lenders. Ask a participating lender which ones you qualify for and whether funds are currently available.
NC 1st Home Advantage Down Payment
$15,000 in down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers (people who haven’t owned a home they lived in during the past three years). Military veterans may qualify for additional options.
NC Home Advantage Mortgage™
A home loan with down payment assistance of up to 3% of the loan amount, for first-time and move-up buyers.
Community Partners Loan Pool
Down payment help of up to 25% of the sales price (maximum $50,000) for buyers earning under 80% of the county median income.
